Accessibility
Access is the point.
Draft for review (September 2026). The website facts are checked against the code. The workshop offers (captions, large print, five days' notice) are proposals for the collective to confirm, and venue details go here once it's booked.
Privacy help that only some people can use isn't mutual aid. Here's what we offer, what we know is missing, and how to ask for anything else.
At workshops
- ASL interpretation and live captions on request.
- Childcare on request, for in-person sessions.
- Join online for any session, with captions. Camera and real name optional.
- Take-home playbooks in large print or plain text on request.
- Pay what you can. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
- Venue: step-free access, restrooms, and seating details will be listed here once the venue is confirmed.
How to ask
Tick the boxes on the booking form, or email hello@zenxyprivacy.org. Tell us at least five days ahead for ASL and childcare so we can arrange them. Ask anyway if it's later; we'll try.
This website
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA.
- High-contrast black on off-white text throughout.
- Works with a keyboard, with a "skip to content" link on every page.
- Respects your "reduce motion" setting: the scrolling ticker stops.
- Every chart has a text description, and the headlines and events are also listed in full below each chart.
- Photos have text descriptions.
What we know isn't there yet
- The main site needs JavaScript. If you browse with it off, or your assistive technology struggles with it, use the text version, which has workshops, the calendar, headlines, and our guides as plain pages.
- The printable kids' device guide PDF isn't fully tagged for screen readers yet. The web version has the same content.
- Some of the display lettering is very condensed. Tell us if it's hard to read.
Something in the way? Email hello@zenxyprivacy.org. We'll reply within a week and tell you what we'll fix.
